Power springs are universal mechanical energy storage components for providing driving torque for a wide range of applications.

Power springs

The power spring gets its name from the fact that it has the property of driving a shaft mechanism with its stored energy. It’s usually used for applications with limited space to accommodate the spring part.

  • Spring width: 1.8 - 100 mm
  • Spring thickness: 0.05 - 3.0 mm
  • Material: Martensitic spring strip steels, textured carbon and stainless steels
  • Service life: Very long, depending on the design
  • Up to 30 working rotations

Maximo power springs

The Maximo power spring features an S-shape with cross-camber, minimum hysteresis, characteristic line within working range in straight line with minimum gradient and greatest energy storage capacity. KERN-LIEBERS has developed and built very sophisticated machinery internally for the special manufacturing processes for Maximo power springs.

  • Spring width: 1.8 - 100 mm
  • Spring thickness: 0.05 - 0.55 mm
  • Material: Textured carbon and stainless steels
  • Service life: Up to 500,000 load cycles (typical applications require 100,000 - 200,000 cycles)
  • Up to 50 working rotations
  • Flat characteristic curve in the work area, low hysteresis
  • The material volume is fully exploited at maximum torque
  • Characteristic S-shape in unwound exposed position
